Powerfest: A Global 2-day virtual learning conference
Project Overview – Powering Global Learning at Scale
Role: Creative Lead, Graphic Designer, Multimedia Developer, and Storyline Developer
(Timeline: 3 months | Tools: vFairs, Storyline, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, Office 365)
The World Bank’s training team wanted to host a virtual global conference that would upskill professionals across continents in Microsoft Office 365 and emerging technologies like Artificial Intelligence. The event, PowerFest, was designed to celebrate and accelerate a culture of continuous learning, giving global staff access to cutting-edge Office tools, AI insights, and collaborative learning experiences in one connected digital space.
As Creative Lead and Technical Partner, I worked directly with vFairs to design and implement branded user experiences inside the virtual conference platform, aligning with World Bank’s global identity. I also developed 26 custom eLearning modules and 26 AI chatbots in just two days, templating and supporting presenters while ensuring each module delivered consistent, interactive, and accessible content across languages and regions.
With more than 2,000 global participants and nearly 40 hours of new learning content, PowerFest became a highly visible success—so impactful that it’s now an annual event at the World Bank, setting a new standard for virtual learning conferences at global scale.
The Results
Exceptional engagement, global reach, and lasting impact, over 2,000 participants, 40 hours of new learning, and overwhelmingly positive feedback proved that thoughtful design and technical precision can turn a virtual conference into a world-class learning experience that continues to inspire year after year.
Project Highlights
Key Takeaways
Empowering Global Learning Through Design and Innovation
Impact:
PowerFest demonstrated that large-scale virtual learning events can feel vibrant, personal, and deeply engaging when design and technology align. The conference brought together over 2,000 World Bank professionals across the globe, delivering 40+ hours of interactive sessions, 26 custom modules, and an unprecedented sense of community around learning.
Lessons Learned:
Designing for a global, asynchronous audience required precision, empathy, and adaptability. I learned that creating consistent templates, AI-assisted content tools, and conversational learning bots not only streamlined production but also empowered presenters and participants to engage meaningfully with the content.
Strengths Demonstrated:
This project highlights my ability to lead creative direction and large-scale digital execution, merging instructional design, UX strategy, and technical integration. It showcases strengths in rapid content development, visual branding, cross-functional coordination, and the ability to balance enterprise polish with creative innovation under tight timelines.
Reflection:
What began as a virtual event quickly evolved into a model for how global organizations can democratize learning through accessible, scalable design. PowerFest reinforced my belief that the future of enterprise learning lies at the intersection of creativity, community, and intelligent automation.
